My story

My story

In late September 2024, a PACK evaluator first met Bear at the Xindian Animal Shelter. Bear is gentle by nature, neither causing trouble nor being overly enthusiastic—much like a quiet and low-profile classmate. According to the staff at Xindian, Bear was abandoned at a fire station when she was about 3 to 4 months old. Having grown up in contact with humans, she is very friendly but lacks sufficient socialization. Environmental noises in human settings can make her nervous. However, we believe that with her small-to-medium size, calm demeanor, and obedient personality, Bear can become an excellent furry family member with a little patience and care. Are you ready to fall in love? Come and meet Bear today!

Bear

Personality

Bear's personality is like a gummy bear—soft yet resilient. When you first meet her, she may seem introverted and sensitive, shy around strangers, and uninterested in unfamiliar dogs, though she will reluctantly engage. Once she gets to know you, she becomes more relaxed and enjoys being petted, very easily satisfied. Bear is gentle toward both people and her surroundings. She can get overly excited when walking or playing with familiar people but quickly calms down with a little guidance. Bear's resilience is that even snacks can't persuade him to shake hands! This sweet and charming gummy bear is perfect for any family. Take her home to warm your heart!

Foster Family Says

Bear is a very well-behaved dog, quiet and gentle. Initially, she doesn’t enjoy being touched and is slightly timid but doesn’t show severe separation anxiety. She only whimpers softly when isolated at first. Bear loves sniffing around and enjoys grassy areas, feeling satisfied easily. Treats don’t work to convince her to shake hands.

My Behavior

My Behavior

When unfamiliar with someone, Bear can be shy and reluctant to be touched. Once familiar, she will come close, nudging her face toward you to check if you want to pet or hug her. Bear enjoys walks and will lead you to the door when she wants to go out, occasionally glancing back to check on you if not taken along. She gets excited during walks and might walk quickly, but a little guidance helps her calm down. Bear loves food and will sit in front of you when she wants a treat, though she won’t shake hands for it—her one firm quirk!

My Behavior

1

Tolerance Levels

At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.

Strangers

She can interact normally with strangers. When she doesn't know you well, she can be a bit shy; once she becomes familiar with you, Bear will become more proactive and affectionate.

4
