My story

I know I can look a little intimidating. My ears are always perked up, my eyes constantly scanning my surroundings, and my body stays tense, as if I'm ready to say, "That's close enough. Don't come any nearer." People often assume I'm grumpy, but the truth is, I'm not angry—I just worry a little more than most. I'm afraid that someone might step into my world before I'm ready to let them in.
Every morning, the first thing I notice is the weather. If the sun is out, I feel a little lighter. I'll find a warm spot to stretch out, soaking up the sunshine while quietly watching the other dogs race around. Sometimes they look like they're having so much fun that I'll catch myself trotting over to join them. But halfway there, I'll stop, as if reminding myself, "Hmm... maybe I'll just watch from here instead." On rainy days, you'll usually find me tucked away somewhere dry, watching everyone else splash around in the mud. They all look so ridiculous... although... they do seem like they're having fun. Not that I'm jealous or anything.
It's not that I don't want to make friends—I'm just slower than most. You may have only met me today, but I've already noticed the sound of your footsteps, the way you smell, and whether you're the kind of person who reaches out without asking. If one day I decide to walk a little closer to you, it won't be because I suddenly became brave. It'll be because I've spent a long time quietly adding you to my list of people I can trust.Sometimes it isn't that I don't want to talk. I've simply gotten used to watching before I join in, paying attention to what's happening around me before deciding where I belong. I might act like I don't care, but I'm always keeping an eye on everyone. And if you ever catch me looking your way... I'll probably turn my head and pretend I was staring at something else all along.
Personality
1
Energy Levels
Boca isn't particularly energetic. When there's nothing going on, he's perfectly happy spending time on his own. Soaking up the sun, daydreaming, and quietly watching the world around him are some of his favorite ways to pass the time. even the weather seems to affect his mood. On sunny days, he might feel like joining his canine friends for a little playtime. But when it rains, he switches straight into "leave me alone" mode.
2
Temperament
Boca doesn’t dislike people. He just feels very unsure and needs time to feel safe around strangers. He doesn’t like being approached too quickly, touched without warning, or pressured into interacting.
The funny thing is, the moment he notices someone has treats in their hand, he’ll quietly move a little closer.
So rather than saying he’s cold or distant, it’s better to say: Boca just has his own way of making friends — it simply takes him a little longer than most dogs.
3
Role
Most of the time, Boca enjoys a quiet environment and prefers not to be overwhelmed by too much attention or pressure. But every now and then, he gets caught up in the excitement of the group.
When the other dogs are having fun together, he may quietly join in.
He’s the type of dog who says:
“I’m not playing.”
(Five minutes later, he’s right in the middle of the fun.)
4
Adaptability
When facing a new environment, Boca’s first instinct is not to explore, but to protect himself. He tends to put his guard up and make himself look unapproachable.
Because for Boca, protecting himself comes before discovering the world around him.
That’s why he may seem difficult to approach when he first enters a new place. However, based on his observations, he doesn’t appear to be overly reactive to environmental sounds. Most of the time, he is simply staying alert, quietly watching and taking everything in.
