My story
Caramel was a stray dog since she was little who was wondering around in the moutain in Tamsui area. After received reports from people, Sanzhi Animal Shelter captured her and kept her in the shelter when she was about one year old. She is quite active and sweet, she stayed in the same shelter for 4 years until PACK Academy went into the shlter to evaluate dogs there. With strong and opmistic nature, Caramel behaved quite well and grabbed the chance to joined PACK Academy from Aug. 2022. After a series of trainings and socialization, Caramel is now with a foster family and got used to the enviroment already! She is settled in very well! She brings the laughter to the family and heals your heart.
Personality
Caramel is very friendly to people and dogs with any sizes. Once she is used to you, she will follow you anywhere you go like your own shadow. If you are in the kitche preparing meals then she will be resting in there. She would follow you to anywhere you go and not to leave her sights. When she notices that you are going to pet her, she would want you to do so and sometime she would even put her head closer to you and sniff at you.

Energy Levels
Caramel gets excited with snacks, meals and outings. She will jump and stomp her feets. At this time, we would tell her to sit or stay to give her sometime to calm down. She would be still quite excited but wouold try to be calmer.

Gets excited with melas, snacks and outings.

Role
In fact, she is very clining and will follow people constantly. She also wishes to be petted if there is any chances.

Adaptability
Caramel adapts new things pretty fast.
Foster Family Says
Caramel basically is an excited girly dog. She often does things in quite contradiction and funny ways. For instant, she gets pretty excited when we preparing her meals. She would express her excitments by hopping around us but then she would tip over the bowl many times when we try to feed her. We would command her to wait and to go slow. She would still stomping her front legs to show the excitements and also would try to follow the command which we gave her in terms of getting her meals.

Caramel has no health issues that we are aware of it.

Tolerance Levels
At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.
Strangers
Caramel is ok with strangers. She would happily allow the strangers to pet her.
Dogs
She is good with other dogs. Occasionally will sniff other dogs for a long time but it can be stopped.
Cats
No interest to the cats.
Kids
Only a few observations, she will act as same as to the strangers.
Noise
Normally has no reaction to the noises, only occasionally would bark at the noise from outside.
Touch
She loves to be petted.

Behavior observations
There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.
Barking
We found that she barks when she hears there is other dogs barking or people’s voices from outside. She barks only for a few times and also can be stopped by command.
Separation Anxiety
No separation anxiety to be found.
Aggression
Not aggressive.
Resource Guarding
No guarding behavior for food or things.
Destructive Chewing
Never choow on tings that she is not supposed to.

Obedience Training
Obedience training is critical for nurturing healthy dog-human relationships and having a well-behaving dog. Our dogs receive basic training at PACK Academy, which provides a foundation for communication between dog and human.

Potty Trained
Caramel is a kind of dog who feels like to pee then she will do so. She pees on the walks and also at home. At the moment the chances of peeing on the pee mat in the house is 60%.
Good on Leash
When she gets too excited, she would pull the leash a bit. Otherwise she is good.

Caramel super knows how to sit.
