Passionate Giant Squirrel
Adopt ChaShao
Girl • 3 years old • Aries • Black with brown • 12kg • Mixed Breed
My story
With her fluffy, slightly brownish coat and a proportionally smaller head, ChaShao looks just like an adorable oversized squirrel! At the end of March 2026, she successfully passed her evaluation and joined the PACK Academy from the Zhonghe Animal Shelter. During the assessment, she was incredibly energetic and affectionate, showering familiar people with hugs and kisses. ChaShao can be slightly sensitive and slow to warm up. While she dislikes being controlled and might struggle if forced, she has a great temper and is never aggressive. Around familiar faces, she reveals a deeply passionate and affectionate side. She has high energy levels and a strong desire to explore, though this means her attention can be a bit scattered at times. This "Passionate Giant Squirrel," with her adorable looks and a vibrant heart, is eagerly waiting for a warm family to patiently explore the world with her!

Personality
ChaShao possesses a typical "ESFP Entertainer" personality—she is action-oriented and highly observant. She is like a curious baby, full of desire to explore the world. Among other dogs, she is very extroverted and social; around humans, though slightly sensitive, she deeply craves affection. In a group dynamic, she tends to be a highly cooperative follower, not having strong opinions and mostly going with the flow. She is highly food-motivated, making her a star student in training. With treats as rewards, she learns commands very quickly. ChaShao needs a family that understands her sensitive heart and uses calm energy to guide her enthusiastic spirit.

Tolerance Levels
At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.
Strangers
Initially keeps her distance and is slow to warm up. She will approach and show enthusiasm only after observing to confirm it's safe.
Dogs
Highly social and loves making dog friends. She is always extroverted and enthusiastic when interacting with her peers.
Cats
No prior contact experience. Her reaction to cats is currently unknown and requires further observation.
Kids
No prior contact experience. Her reaction to kids is currently unknown and requires further observation.
Noise
Will proactively observe the source of noises, but her overall reaction is minimal. She does not easily get startled or anxious by sounds.
Touch
Extremely fond of physical contact with familiar people, but dislikes being forcefully controlled and may struggle if forced.
2
Behavior observations
There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.

No abnormal barking behaviors observed; she is generally very quiet.
Separation Anxiety
Shows absolutely no signs of separation anxiety and remains stable when left alone.

Gentle by nature. She may struggle if controlled against her will but has never exhibited any aggressive behaviors.

Destructive Chewing
Well-behaved with no observed instances of destructive chewing or damaging items.
