My story

My story

Cinna joined PACK Academy in September 2025. Having previously grown up in a home, it is suspected that she was abandoned due to improper care. When she arrived at the Neihu Animal Shelter, she was found to be malnourished and extremely thin. Despite this, Cinna has a gentle and shy personality, acting like a polite little maid at all times. During her evaluation by PACK staff, she was incredibly well-behaved and cooperative, proactively sitting down and humbly raising her paw to shake hands. This lovely and high-quality dog is now longing for a patient and loving forever home!

Cinna

Personality

Our Cinna is also a "Cinnamoroll" with big, floppy ears. Although she is black, she shares the same sweet, quiet personality as the Sanrio character—she is well-behaved, calm, and loves being around people. Once she feels comfortable, she will even rest her head on your lap to cuddle. Cinna is naturally introverted and cautious; she is sensitive to environmental noises and may sometimes freeze on the street when overwhelmed. In these moments, a gentle pat on the head from her owner provides the security she needs. She loves soft whispers and gentle strokes. While she isn't assertive about expressing her needs, she becomes very happy when someone notices them. Due to her past negative experiences, Cinna is best suited for a home that uses positive reinforcement and maintains a calm emotional atmosphere. Once she fully settles in, you will have an incredibly sweet and adorable companion!

1

Energy Levels

Moderate energy. She enjoys slow walks on quiet streets. Once she becomes familiar with the people and dogs at the pet park, she will happily run around and play.

RELAXED ACTIVE

2

Temperament

Gentle and introverted, humble and friendly, but lacks a sense of security and tends to get nervous easily.

SHY SOCIAL

3

Role

Cinna is hesitant to express her needs directly. Usually, she will sit beside someone and raise her paw to signal that she wants something. If the person is focused on other things, she will wait patiently for them to notice her. She has a very deferential and pleasing attitude.

FOLLOWER LEADER

4

Adaptability

She needs some time to adapt to new environments. Sudden movements or high-intensity emotions can cause her stress. She may have accidents indoors when first arriving at a new place, but this will improve once she adjusts.

Low High
Foster Family Says

When she first arrived, she had accidents around the house (and interestingly didn't go when taken to the park). She is a dog who deeply needs security, but she is very cooperative to care for. The only challenge is that she can be difficult to manage during outings due to her nervousness.

Medical History

My health has been checked:

  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Microchipped
  • Vaccinated
  • Regular Worming Treatment

No specific medical issues.
My Behavior

My Behavior

Cinna's signature move is gently raising her paw like a "Lucky Cat" (adopting her might bring you luck!). It is incredibly endearing, but it is actually her way of expressing a need—perhaps wanting pets or wanting to go home. She quietly hopes someone will notice her. Indoors, she mostly spends her time quietly. When she sees her favorite person come home, she will trot over to greet them and ask for pets. She occasionally initiates cuddles and loves items that carry her owner's scent.

My Behavior

1

Tolerance Levels

At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.

Strangers

She is fearful of strangers at first. If the person squats down and lets Cinna sniff their hand, she will allow head pets and interaction.

4

Dogs

Friendly towards strange dogs and willing to make new friends.

5

Cats

Has not encountered cats yet.

unknown

Kids

As long as children are gentle and move slowly, Cinna will allow them to pet her head after sniffing their hands.

4

Noise

Very sensitive to sound and reacts to various noises. However, she doesn't overreact with extreme panic; she usually just freezes in place.

3

Touch

No sensitive spots; she enjoys physical contact all over.

Behavior observations

There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.

Barking

Very quiet at home and almost never barks. She will only bark at strangers with suspicious posturing in order to protect her owner.

0

Separation Anxiety

Separation anxiety has not been observed yet.

0

Aggression

No aggression observed.

0

Resource Guarding

No resource guarding of food or objects.

0

Destructive Chewing

No destructive behavior has been observed from Cinna so far.

Obedience Training

Obedience training is critical for nurturing healthy dog-human relationships and having a well-behaving dog. Our dogs receive basic training at PACK Academy, which provides a foundation for communication between dog and human.
