My story

My story

FunFun gives the first impression of being an incredibly cuddly little bear! FunFun was once so chubby that her neck was barely visible, and she loves to roll onto her back to play. With her petite and exquisite face, she gives a therapeutic vibe like a toy bear! In May 2024, assessors from PACK Taiwan first met FunFun at the New Taipei Animal Shelter. FunFun was unanimously recommended by the caretakers on-site, and she impressively passed the assessors' tests, thus joining the PACK Academy. FunFun learns basic commands quickly, is eager to interact with people, often excitedly burrowing into your arms for affection, and when she makes a mistake, she immediately curls up and rolls over. She is very smart and incredibly cute, so come and get to know FunFun!

FunFun

Personality

FunFun is very active, enthusiastic, and loves to be cuddly, even getting jealous of other dogs. Her personality allows her to be both lively and calm. When someone is nearby, she uses all her strength to be affectionate, but if you ignore her for a moment, FunFun can also quietly lie down to rest. Although she is small in size, she is a bit chubby with thick fur, making her head appear small and narrow. Special care should be taken with the looseness of her collar to avoid escape. She is great at finding cozy spots to rest, preferring to lie down rather than stand, making her suitable for companionship with the elderly and children.

My Behavior

My Behavior

FunFun is enthusiastic toward everyone but can be a bit harsh with other dogs. When other dogs interact with their owners, she may get jealous. If another dog disrupts the happy time with her owner, she will wrinkle her nose and bark to drive them away. Therefore, she is more suited for families without other dogs. She has little reaction to environmental noise and seeks out safe spots to quietly stay when feeling uneasy. When she first arrived at the facility, she was unfamiliar with the routine and would bark to express her needs; this has improved after learning basic commands.

My Behavior

1

Tolerance Levels

At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.

She loves interacting with people!

Behavior observations

There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.

Barking

FunFun has a habit of barking to express excitement upon seeing familiar people, making requests, or showing dissatisfaction with other dogs. After basic command training, she has improved significantly, but her future family will still need to continue training.

1

Separation Anxiety

FunFun does not have separation anxiety.

0

Aggression

She shows no aggressive behavior.

0

Resource Guarding

FunFun does not guard food, but she does have a strong sense of territory when it comes to her things, such as her bed or room, and she doesn’t like other dogs getting close to her belongings.

1

Destructive Chewing

She has not destroyed anything.

Obedience Training

Obedience training is critical for nurturing healthy dog-human relationships and having a well-behaving dog. Our dogs receive basic training at PACK Academy, which provides a foundation for communication between dog and human.

Good on Leash

FunFun is easy to leash walk, but special attention should be paid to the looseness of her collar because her neck is thick, and her head is small, along with her fluffy fur, which can lead to misjudging the collar's tightness.
