My story

My story

Jamie's experience is a microcosm of the stray dog issue. Jamie's mother gave birth to five puppies – four small black ones and the golden Jamie. They lived under a high-speed rail bridge in Tainan, where they spent every day surrounded by dangerous traffic. Kind-hearted people noticed the puppies crossing the street, which was a terrifying sight, and quickly reported them for rescue and relocation. Unfortunately, one of the small black puppies was tragically hit and killed by a car. After much effort, Jamie’s mother was caught, but it was discovered that she was pregnant again and had to be spayed. These heartbreaking events continue to happen on the streets. The PACK team hopes for a day when there will be adoption, spaying and neutering, and no abandonment, and that every dog will have a loving home. Jamie needs a gentle and patient family to help her overcome her past. Would you be willing to become her family?

Jamie

Personality

Jamie is a shy dog. When she encounters something that makes her anxious, she wants to hide. We know however that based on her actions that Jamie is willing to be close to people; she has just never experienced love and care. When there are other dogs around, Jamie seems more at ease. She also really enjoys playing with other dogs. At first, she may want to hide from strangers, but after some time, she will want to approach and get to know them. We have observed that in familiar surroundings, Jamie loves to interact with people, follow commands, enjoy petting, and appears to be happy!

1

Energy Levels

Although she may seem quiet or anxious at times, Jamie actually needs to release her energy!

RELAXED ACTIVE

2

Temperament

She is a very slow-to-warm type dog. You can only see her affectionate side after spending a long time with her.

SHY SOCIAL

3

Role

Jamie is quite easy to handle. She is obedient and doesn’t resist. Perhaps, after she becomes more familiar with her owner or environment, she will begin to express herself and make requests.

FOLLOWER LEADER

4

Adaptability

Jamie is a bit slow to adapt, but because she is still young, she is quite open to new experiences. She just needs some time.

Low High

Medical History

My health has been checked:

  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Microchipped
  • Vaccinated
  • Regular Worming Treatment

Jamie is positive for Ehrlichia, but she has no symptoms. Regular check-ups in the future are all that’s needed now, and she has no other medical issues.
My Behavior

My Behavior

At first, Jamie resisted the leash because of her mistrust of people and the unfamiliar environment. After training, she has improved a lot. However, if she encounters a sudden loud noise or a stimulating event, she may want to run home or hide. For this reason it’s important to always hold the leash firmly to prevent her from running away. She gets along with most other dogs, but when she’s not familiar with her surroundings, she may reject overly enthusiastic dogs. She prefers to do her business outdoors, but because she goes  frequently. she will relieve herself indoors when she can’t hold it. She’s still learning to use a pee pad.

My Behavior
