Adopt Logan
Boy • 7 years old • Libra • Black • 20kg • Mixed breed
My story
PACK’s evaluator brought Logan out of the Sanzhi animal shelter in September 2024. Logan lost his right hind leg when he stepped on a gin trap when he was a stray. By the time he was rescued, the leg was gangrenous and had to be amputated. Despite having only three legs, Logan remains confident and stands proudly. He loves interacting with people, lying down to play, and even "talks" with humans, engaging in a back-and-forth conversation. This charming, charismatic and fun-loving dog is absolutely adorable! Give Logan a chance to meet you!

Personality
Logan has a sharp, alert gaze and a steady, outgoing personality. He is affectionate without being overly clingy, knowing when to step back and let others rest. It feels like Logan has a human-like soul inside him, often trying to express himself, but only able to do so through his dog body. He's very talkative and truly understands human language! Maybe it's true, because Logan is easy to communicate with and learns quickly. He can rapidly grasp the meanings of phrases commonly said to him. Despite missing one hind leg, Logan remains undeterred. He has developed strong front legs and walks with confidence, matching the pace of humans. Logan is smart, steady, and knows when to be active or calm, making him a great companion (but maybe not every other dog!).
1
Energy Levels
Logan is usually calm, but becomes particularly excited when there’s an opportunity for affection or attention. If you ask him to sit, he will calm down, but he won’t stop talking!
2
Temperament
Logan quickly adapts to new environments and strangers. He can relax on his own, but will eagerly respond to strangers who want to interact with him.
3
Role
Logan is very communicative with humans. Though he might chatter, he follows commands well. Logan doesn't easily warm up to strange dogs.. He may try to chase away dogs that want to get too close to his human, though he won’t attack.
4
Adaptability
Logan quickly adapts to new environments and people, adjusting his habits to fit the surroundings. He might show some nervousness (such as whining or crying) the first time he tries a new activity (like riding in a car),but by the second time, he’s much calmer and more willing to participate.
Foster Family Says
Logan loves being petted and will happily mouth your hand. After practicing the "no mouth" rule, Logan can now enjoy being petted without trying to nibble. He is quick to learn and adapt. He understands that "stay home” means no walk, and will return to his bed in the living room on his own. Logan is truly funny and well-behaved, adapting well to home life. He might get a little dramatic when he's excited, but he’s never boring, especially since he loves to "talk"! We hope he finds a family that will appreciate his unique personality soon.
Medical History
My health has been checked:
- Spayed/Neutered
- Microchipped
- Vaccinated
- Regular Worming Treatment
Due to a leg-hold trap injury, Logan underwent right hind leg amputation. The spleen was also removed due to enlargement. Logan can lead a normal life, but special attention to immune protection is required.
My Behavior
1
Tolerance Levels
At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.
Strangers
Logan is not shy around strangers and is very happy to be petted. After some petting, he’ll roll over and show his belly for more affection.
Dogs
He is willing to make friends with other dogs, but doesn’t like overly enthusiastic or active dogs. If he doesn’t get along with another dog, he will simply walk away without getting aggressive.
Cats
No particular reaction to cats.
Kids
Same as strangers. After some petting, Logan will roll over and show his belly for more affection.
Noise
Logan doesn’t react to noise in any special way.
Touch
Logan loves being touched and will roll over for belly rubs when you pet him.
2
Behavior observations
There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.
Barking
Logan is very vocal, but not in a barky way. He tends to "talk" instead.
Separation Anxiety
No signs of separation anxiety observed.
Aggression
When meeting dogs he doesn’t like, Logan will bark to drive them away, but he does not attack. Logan sometimes has the bad habit of lightly nipping at hands or feet when he’s excited, but with continued training, this behavior can be reduced.
Resource Guarding
No observed issues with resource guarding.
Destructive Chewing
No destructive chewing habits observed.
3
Obedience Training
Obedience training is critical for nurturing healthy dog-human relationships and having a well-behaving dog. Our dogs receive basic training at PACK Academy, which provides a foundation for communication between dog and human.
