Adopt Loreal
Girl • 2 years old • Aquarius • Black • 14kg • Mixed breed
My story
Loreal lived in Taichung but her previous owner became ill and moved into a care facility. The owner’s brother returned from Japan to handle the situation, and if no one adopted her, Loreal was at risk of being abandoned. A rescue group intervened to prevent Loreal from living rough and having puppies. They temporarily took her in, had her spayed and began looking for a new home for her. When when Loreal first arrived at the rescue in August 2024, she was a bit shy, but her intelligence and brave heart allowed her to quickly learn how to interact with people. Now Loreal is a lively, friendly dog who enjoys being around others. With the right training and structure, she will make a wonderful companion!

Personality
Loreal is an energetic, bright and outgoing girl. She is not afraid of strangers and loves making new friends, easily adapting to new environments. She’s very intelligent and learns quickly, picking up commands and rules fast! Loreal is a curious young dog, eager to explore new things, and confident in her ability to handle them, so there’s no need to worry about her having trouble adjusting. However, she can get anxious when alone and craves human or dog companionship. She will need practice in learning how to balance playtime with other dogs and being comfortable with time alone. Loreal is full of potential and is waiting for a best friend to explore the world with. Come meet her soon!

Behavior observations
There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.
Barking
Loreal is generally quiet, but has been observed to growl when encountering tall men.
Separation Anxiety
No signs of separation anxiety have been observed.
Aggression
She shows no signs of aggression.
Resource Guarding
No signs of food or object guarding.
Destructive Chewing
When Loreal first arrived at her foster home, she chewed through her food container in excitement. She may also chew on toys or other items if left bored. Regular play and walks are important to keep her engaged.
