My story

My story

When Marshall was just a newborn, he and his three brothers were cruelly abandoned in a bucket in the fields of Tainan. Without their mother’s milk, at risk of being attacked by other animals, and exposed to heavy rains during monsoon season, their survival was uncertain. Fortunately, a rescuer found them and gave them temporary shelter. Months passed, and they all grew up healthy and strong. Among them, Marshall was the one who trusted people the most—friendly, affectionate, and eager for human connection.

In November 2024, PACK’s Preparatory School brought Marshall in for training. He quickly mastered basic commands and proved himself to be a smart, obedient dog!

Marshall

Personality

Marshall is enthusiastic, outgoing, and full of energy—the perfect “sunshine athlete” type. He thrives on human interaction and loves receiving praise. Wherever people gather, Marshall wants to be there too! At camping events, he’s the little joker who gets everyone smiling.

Why camping? Because in quieter indoor spaces, Marshall shines with confidence, while in bustling outdoor city settings he’s more sensitive and timid. Loud noises can make him nervous, so he still needs practice adjusting to busy urban life. Marshall always tries to do his best, eager to be recognized, and will even try to “help out” as he understands it. With his cheerful, eager-to-please nature, he’s like the perfect little house manager!

Low High
Foster Family Says

Marshall is very sensitive to strangers and loud noises—he may tremble or try to run away. But on walks, he is very friendly toward other dogs and wants to interact. He’s also curious about the household cat. At first, he would chase the cat, but never with aggression—only curiosity. Now, he sometimes even plays with the cat using toys!

Medical History

My health has been checked:

  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Microchipped
  • Vaccinated
  • Regular Worming Treatment

No known medical issues.
My Behavior

My Behavior

In familiar indoor settings, Marshall is lively, sweet, and well-behaved. In parks he knows, he relaxes and enjoys interacting with other dogs. But in unfamiliar environments or with strangers, he becomes shy or anxious, needing more time to adjust. Marshall still needs regular walking practice. Without enough walks, he may get bored and chew on things at home. Frequent outings also help reduce his sensitivity to noise, otherwise, loud sounds may cause him to panic and try to escape.

My Behavior

1

Tolerance Levels

At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.

Strangers

Very approachable; after a few minutes of interaction, strangers can pet him. Outdoors he remains more fearful, so an experienced handler is safer.

4

Dogs

Friendly and polite, will sniff other dogs, but won’t immediately play with unfamiliar ones.

4

Cats

Very gentle. Will sit beside cats while they eat without competing for food. Curious and kind.

5

Kids

Friendly with children. Gentle movements help him accept them faster.

4

Noise

Very noise-sensitive. Barks at sounds outside the door to alert humans, but can be stopped. Outdoor walks in noisy areas make him anxious and likely to pull hard to escape.

2

Touch

Extremely affectionate. No sensitive spots—loves being petted all over.
