My story

My story

In February 2025, 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier Maru was abandoned by his family and sent to the Neihu Animal Shelter. It wasn't until September of the same year that a rescuer from "Bark Gang" brought him out. Initially, Maru looked like a scruffy stray, but after a makeover by a groomer, he transformed into a super cute and handsome little prince. Maru is affectionate and lively, very well-behaved and docile whether being brushed or having his hair tied. Although he has almost no teeth and his food needs to be softened, his passion for life remains undiminished. Are you ready to welcome this transformed, adorable little gentleman?

Maru

Personality

Maru is a thoughtful boy who can be quiet or active. When no one is paying attention to him, he will sleep quietly, but as soon as you call him, he will happily run over. His most unique signature move is to bump people or things with his butt to get your attention. He is a very submissive and endearing child who makes people laugh and cry. His love for humans overflows; he is content with just a gentle stroke.

1

Energy Levels

When you squat down, Maru will happily run over, roll on his back for belly rubs, and bump you with his butt to cuddle. But if you gently tell him to "calm down," he can immediately settle.

RELAXED ACTIVE

2

Temperament

Maru's happiness is simple; he's happy with company and can entertain himself when alone. He is a dog that can perfectly integrate into any family's rhythm.

Foster Family Says

"Maru is a super human-loving child who loves to roll on his back for belly rubs. He is very submissive, can be quiet or active. Although he needs a few days to adjust to a new environment, he quickly relaxes and no longer exhibits separation anxiety or resource guarding."

Medical History

My health has been checked:

  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Microchipped
  • Vaccinated
  • Regular Worming Treatment

Almost all his teeth have fallen out, so his food needs to be softened before eating.

Barks when overly excited, but the barking is not loud, more like a gentle, affectionate grumble.

Separation Anxiety

Cried when first left alone, but became very relaxed after getting used to it.

1

Aggression

No aggression whatsoever.

0

Resource Guarding

Exhibited some resource guarding when first in a new environment, but became completely normal after a few days of relaxation.
