Quiet Gentleman
Adopt MingMing
Boy • 2 years old • Aries • Brindle • 20kg • Mixed Breed
My story
When MingMing was just a newborn, he and his three littermates were abandoned in a bucket and left in the fields of Tainan. Without their mother to feed them, exposed to predators, and with flooding risks during the rainy season, they were in danger. A rescuer found them and took them in temporarily. In February 2025, MingMing joined PACK Academy. Among the three brothers, MingMing is the most timid and cautious, but our evaluators noticed his gentle and friendly nature toward people. He is under-socialized but very receptive to human guidance and touch. We believe that with patience and love, MingMing will grow into an excellent family companion. He’s currently living with a foster family and making steady progress!

Personality
MingMing is shy and introverted. He craves a sense of belonging and wants to be understood. While he’s quiet by nature, he is very gentle and friendly with people. He accepts affection easily and adapts quickly to new caretakers when treated with patience and kindness. At home, he’s calm and independent, but outdoors, he turns into a “startled bird”—easily frightened by sudden noises. He must be kept on a short, secure leash during walks, as even minor sounds can scare him. His senses are on high alert outside, and he’ll need continued exposure therapy and desensitization with a calm, patient human.
1
Energy Levels
Usually calm, though he gets excited before meals. He can calm down with a gentle reminder. When left home alone, he quietly naps or zones out on his own.
2
Temperament
Introverted, gentle, and easy to get along with. However, he startles easily, so interactions need to be slow and careful.
3
Role
Very laid-back. At the shelter, he followed the lead of more confident dogs, and at home he responds well to human instructions.
4
Adaptability
MingMing adapts quickly to indoor environments. He was already belly-up asleep on his first day, and a few days later, he was snoozing with his tongue sticking out. But outdoor settings are still overwhelming. Even after a week of walking the same route, he remains anxious and fearful.
Foster Family Says
MingMing is still very young and sensitive. We really hope his adopter is someone who’s home often—at least one person available to accompany and train him regularly. He does best when someone is around, and interaction/playtime helps him feel safe and more secure.

My Behavior
1
Tolerance Levels
At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.
Strangers
He is a bit passive with strangers at first, but is willing to interact and enjoys being petted.
Dogs
Generally indifferent. Sniffing is fine, but if another dog is overly enthusiastic—especially sniffing his butt—he’ll growl or show his teeth as a warning.
Cats
He can live peacefully with other cats.
Kids
Children can also safely interact with MingMing.
Noise
Indoors, no strong reaction to noise. Outdoors, he’s easily scared by traffic and various loud sounds.
Touch
Loves being petted by people he knows. Becomes super cuddly and rolls over for belly rubs.

Behavior observations
There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.
Barking
Almost never barks. Might bark at strange sounds or his reflection in a mirror when just waking up, but stops on his own.
Separation Anxiety
No signs of separation anxiety so far.
Aggression
No aggression observed.
Resource Guarding
No signs of guarding food or objects.
Destructive Chewing
Has only chewed one TV remote so far. Due to his young age, if he doesn’t get enough walks or stimulation, he might chew. Keep things tidy and provide chew toys and durable snacks to keep him occupied.
3
Obedience Training
Obedience training is critical for nurturing healthy dog-human relationships and having a well-behaving dog. Our dogs receive basic training at PACK Academy, which provides a foundation for communication between dog and human.
Name
Understands his name.
Yes & No
Understands “yes” and “no.”
Potty Trained
Due to fear of outdoor stimuli, he mainly uses pee pads indoors. Still working on outdoor potty training through regular walks and gradual desensitization.
Good on Leash
Walks well on a leash, but startles easily from outdoor sounds and may try to run, so keep the leash short and secure.
Sit
Knows “sit.”
Down
Knows “down.”

明明聽得懂等等。
