The Cool Mom
Adopt Summer
Girl • 5 years old • Cancer • Brindle • 25kg • Mixed Breed
My story
The name Summer sounds sunny and gentle, just like Summer's own personality, it can warm you at any time! In fact, she is a mother who has given birth to five puppies. The dog father, the five puppies, and Summer were rescued into the Tamsui Animal Shelter. Everyone found a home, only Summer was not been adopted, perhaps because of her large size, tiger spots, and introverted personality....It doesn't matter! PACK Academy is dedicated to these forgotten dogs! Summer is very smart and learns quickly. She is even smart enough to pick different people to trick you and test your bottom line. As long as the master is firm and persistent, Summer will decide that you are someone worth following! This will make you more obedient and obedient ~ Friends who like big dogs don’t miss her! Come and meet the gentle and spiritual Summer!

Personality
“Shall I compare thee to a Summer’s day?” ––––Well, Summer might appear lofty with her robust, dashing physique. However, her soul is, in fact, filled with tenderness and passion. Give her a few minutes to get acquainted with the newfound sight and smell of strangers. Once she realizes you mean no harm but love and care, she welcomes all sorts of petting, even on her belly! The more she knows you, the more secret strategies she will come up with to get what she wants from you. What an “incomparably” clever girl!
1
Energy Levels
In a new environment by herself, Summer is slightly timid and alert. As opposed to her uninhibited readiness toward any invitation of fun, either from people or dogs. She tends to get over-excited, but that could be easily fixed with simple instruction.
2
Temperament
Though presenting herself as an extrovert, Summer still needs time to evaluate each stranger. If someone she knows is present and guiding her, the evaluation process will run way faster.
3
Role
Generally, Summer obeys commands given by people. However, as she gets more familiar, she feels less motivated to complete those commands. Maybe consider a more mouth-drooling snack.
4
Adaptability
If she is with people or dogs she knows, she can quickly adapt to a new environment. Of course, the difference between with or without is nothing but a brief overall evaluation. Eventually, she will find way to relax and chill.
Foster Family Says
Summer is a good, affectionate “big” girl. Sometimes, she behaves rudely to the cat (foster family’s cat). When she gets caught for being rude and thus upsets the fosterer, she will immediately apologize by showing her belly as if she is begging for mercy (and of course it works). Thankfully, Summer’s “stepsister” (foster family’s dog) is a legit peacemaker. She will ask Summer to come and play instead of bothering the cat. The acquired sisterly bond poses little problems while living under the same roof. Our dog has a relatively dominant role but will still yield to Summer. Summer has a sweet, tender spirit living in her big body.

My Behavior
1
Tolerance Levels
At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.
Strangers
Timid and alert at first. Summer will eventually relax either with help from friends or with a quick evaluation, which only takes a few minutes, on strangers.
Dogs
Similar cautious attitude as toward strangers. If Summer is led by someone she knows, the quality of the interaction will be greatly enhanced!
Cats
Summer shows interest in cats by sniffing and teasing them. If the cats do not like it, Summer will not recklessly advance.
Kids
Summer will eventually relax either with help from friends or with a quick evaluation, which only takes a few minutes.
Noise
No significant reaction toward noise.
Touch
Summer welcomes appropriate amount of touching.
2
