My story

My story

Tira has a petite and slender build, and her personality is very shy and slow to warm up. She has spent almost her entire life at the PACK Taiwan facility, so her socialization is somewhat lacking. She requires patient guidance from her owner for unfamiliar sounds and objects. Additionally, given Tira’s age, we know that it might be challenging for a dog like her to find an adopter. We believe that there are no perfect dogs, but there are certainly companions who are the best fit for each other! Tira actually has many strengths, such as her affection when she warms up and her quiet demeanor at home, making her suitable for companionship with the elderly or children. Many families are looking for small-sized dogs. Tira is also working hard to learn and adapt to human life. Taking care of Tira brings a lot of fulfillment; watching her improve little by little and open up for interaction is truly heartwarming. Tira is waiting for a warm family that is patient and attentive. Are you feeling drawn to her?

Tira

Personality

Tira is slim and small because she does not seek food like other dogs. When you want to reward her with treats to connect with behaviors, it’s challenging with Tira. She is a quiet little fairy who appreciates peace; not disturbing her is her only form of gentleness. Interacting with her doesn’t require much engagement; the moments when she comes to seek affection are when you can interact passionately. During those few minutes, she shows a relaxed and happy demeanor! The introverted and quiet Tira trembles easily in the hustle and bustle of the city, possibly wanting to escape. However, with enough patience and gentle, firm guidance, you will see progress! We believe Tira will gradually adapt to her new life.

1

Energy Levels

When Tira feels safe and secure, she tends to stay still and enjoys resting on the sofa. However, when she first arrives in a new environment, Tira may get a bit nervous and walk around if she doesn't see anyone.

RELAXED ACTIVE

2

Temperament

Tira is a very introverted dog. When she’s not familiar with her surroundings, she tucks her tail and shakes a little, possibly wanting to escape. You need to slowly squat down to her level, extend your hand gently, and pet her softly. After she becomes familiar, she only stops shaking. Every day, there are only a few minutes when Tira will actively approach people.

SHY SOCIAL

3

Role

Tira is not a proactive leader, but she is not a passive follower either; she does not respond to food or follow other dogs’ actions.

FOLLOWER LEADER

4

Adaptability

She may adapt a bit faster if there are familiar dogs around. Tira takes longer to adjust to unfamiliar environments; when she first joined the temporary shelter, she refused to eat for three days. No matter how enticing the food was, she showed no interest, only willing to take a few bites on the fourth day. Tira requires more time, patience, and gentleness than the average dog.

Low High
Foster Family Says

Tira is a dog that is very sensitive to her environment, and she has little interest in food. You need to see if Tira is in the mood for affection before petting her; otherwise, she generally doesn’t seem to enjoy being petted. Because she has little interest in treats, it can be difficult to reward her desired behaviors. There are certain moments during the day when she becomes unexpectedly enthusiastic, wagging her tail, rubbing against people, rolling onto her back, and giving kisses, but soon she returns to being the quiet Tira. It seems that Tira still has a playful side, as she insists on jumping on the sofa and sleeping there, and she will try to get on the bed (but can be stopped). We hope Tira can gradually become less anxious.

My health has been checked:

My Behavior

My Behavior

In a noisy outdoor environment, Tira tucks her tail and shakes. In contrast, in a quiet unfamiliar indoor environment, she can explore at her own pace. Tira resembles a fairy who has spent many years in the mountains; she is not easily attracted by material things and does not experience emotional fluctuations. She generally remains quietly resting in one spot. However, we’ve noticed that Tira seems to like the sofa and bed, often jumping up to rest. If you don’t want her to get on, simply saying "No" effectively stops her!

My Behavior

1

Tolerance Levels

At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.

Strangers

When encountering strangers, she becomes very shy, but she doesn’t shake or become overly frightened; she just doesn’t approach or seek attention. After a while, when she feels familiar, she will only approach people when she desires to.

3

Dogs

When encountering unfamiliar dogs, she is friendly and will sniff them.

4

Cats

Tira shows no reaction to cats and does not approach them.

3

Kids

She has not yet interacted with children.

unknown

Noise

She is very sensitive to sounds; sudden noises can startle her, causing her to tuck her tail.

2

Touch

Although she doesn’t have any landmines, she needs to be familiar with a person before feeling comfortable being petted.
