My story
Abu came to PACK Taiwan because his previous owner didn't have enough time to take care of her. We tried to convince the owner to keep trying but she insisted. The owner was considering other shelters where the environment was more harsh, so we ultimately agreed to take her in.
Personality
Abu has the personality of a cheerleader because she's so happy and upbeat despite what she's gone through. You can often find a big smile on her face when she's playing with people or her friends. She's a high energy dog who is smart and loyal.

Energy Levels
Abu is full of energy! She easily gets hyper when she sees someone she likes and is always ready to play. Loves to run!

Temperament
Abu is shy at first but it takes her only a few minutes to warm up. And once she does she's a social butterfly.

Abu's personality is back-of-the-pack. She can be easily bullied by dogs with stronger personalities.

Adaptability
Abu will be a bit nervous in new environments but warms up quickly. However, some loud sounds can scare her.

Tolerance Levels
At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.
Strangers
Abu can get along with strangers easily.
Dogs
Good with other dogs, especially male dogs.
Cats
Not much exposure to cats. Will stare but not chase.
Kids
Abu is comfortable with kids.
Noise
Can be frightened by loud, sudden noises.
Touch
Abu is happy to be pet anywhere!

Behavior observations
There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.

She will bark and whine when she's alone.

Abu will need some practice being by herself.

We haven't witnesses aggression in Abu.
Resource Guarding
Has not displayed resource guarding.
Destructive Chewing
Has not chewed on anything she's not supposed to.

Obedience Training
Obedience training is critical for nurturing healthy dog-human relationships and having a well-behaving dog. Our dogs receive basic training at PACK Academy, which provides a foundation for communication between dog and human.
