My story

My story

In January 2026, Heitang was found wandering the streets and brought to the Taipei City Animal Shelter in Neihu, where he was subsequently neutered and microchipped. Although slightly sensitive and slow to warm up, Heitang displays remarkable independence and composure. Far from being clingy, he is an expert at managing his own space and pace. Despite having bilateral cataracts, he never lets it slow him down, navigating life with grace and dignity. Reflecting his warm brown coat and initially sensitive nature, he is just like a cup of slow-brewed coffee—subtle and quiet at first, but revealing a deep, comforting warmth and rich aroma as you spend more time with him. He is currently staying in a foster home, steadily learning to trust humans. This endearing "Warm Slow-Brew" is looking for a gentle, patient family to share peaceful days and grow old together in a loving home.

Heitang

Personality

Heitang possesses a charmingly mature aura; he is quiet, cautious yet composed, and never rushes into unfamiliar situations. In his foster home, he is not the shadow-like, clingy companion; rather, he thoroughly enjoys his own personal space, spending his time finding cozy corners for naps or quietly exploring. While he requires a brief 2 to 3-day observation period when encountering new environments, he is a companion whose gentle, pressure-free affection slowly unfolds over time, much like the rich flavor of a well-brewed cup. Heitang is the perfect fit for families seeking a mature, low-maintenance, and elegantly independent companion.

Foster Family Says

When entering a new home, Heitang typically needs at least 3 days to familiarize himself with the environment and adjust to his new caregiver. He might be cautious at first, but with just a little extra patience, time, and gentle companionship, you will soon see Heitang completely let his guard down and reveal his most comfortable, relaxed, and adorable self!

Medical History

My health has been checked:

  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Microchipped
  • Vaccinated
  • Regular Worming Treatment

Diagnosed with bilateral cataracts. Arrangements have been made for a specialized veterinary ophthalmologist to conduct further examination and treatment.
My Behavior

My Behavior

Heitang is an exceptionally well-behaved and structured boy. On leash walks, his performance is nearly flawless—he walks elegantly without pulling, making outdoor time highly enjoyable. At home, he is incredibly quiet with zero barking, aggression, or destructive chewing. Initially, when his foster family tried to touch his face, he seemed a bit overwhelmed and unsure because he was not yet familiar with them. However, with gentle guidance, once he adapted and felt safe, he was fully comfortable with face pets by the third day. Potty training is currently an ongoing progress, and he will require a patient owner to help him establish a stable bathroom routine. Additionally, due to his impaired vision, Heitang cannot judge height differences. He needs to be handled with extra care on stairs as he can easily trip and fall; close supervision is also required during walks to prevent him from falling or bumping into obstacles.
