My story

My story

Hello, I’m Hope.

When you first see me, you might notice my size, or my shiny black coat. But the most obvious thing is probably this… I only have three legs!

Haha—don’t worry. I can run just as fast as the four-legged dogs. I’m full of energy, a little ball of sunshine with a medium-to-high energy level.

I used to have a home.Back then, my person put a collar on me. I remember it was really nice. I like to think I must have been very lovable, to have had a family once.

Then I got hurt. It hurt a lot. So much that I couldn’t even stand.

One day, my person put me into a cloth bag and rode off on a scooter. The scooter suddenly stopped somewhere. By the side of the road, he tipped me out of the bag. I was still naïve enough to think maybe he was just letting me get down to go to the bathroom.

Then people started shouting at him. Someone took photos. They looked angry. My person quickly picked me up, stuffed me back into the bag, and rode away. But not long after, we stopped again.

This time, he left me by the roadside and rode off for good.

I was terrified. I didn’t dare let anyone touch me. Later, some kind people built a small shelter for me so I wouldn’t get soaked in the rain, and they went to find someone who could really help me.

That’s the story before I met PACK Taiwan.

Here, the vets and volunteers worked incredibly hard to save me. I went through a major surgery. I lost one leg, but I survived the infection and sepsis—and I made it.

Now?
I’m a super lively, super clingy little troublemaker. The moment someone walks past my kennel, I dash right over, push myself up on my three legs, and press against the fence. I’ve fully recovered, and I run with everything I’ve got.

Because with these three legs, I’m living my life at full speed—I’m PACK’s most energetic three-legged little sun.

Personality

1

Energy Levels

Hope may look sweet and calm, but she’s full of bouncing energy.

She lights up when she sees familiar people, loves to jog on walks, and once she spots snacks—focus is instantly gone.

RELAXED ACTIVE

2

Temperament

Hope’s people-loving meter is off the charts.

The moment you pass her room, she rushes to the fence, tail wildly wagging—often smacking her roommate in the face—while eagerly waiting for head pats and tasty treats.

SHY SOCIAL

3

Role

Hope may look lively and mischievous, but at heart she’s a little sidekick who seeks a sense of safety in companionship.

She’s happiest when someone takes the lead and sets the pace—turn around, and she’ll instantly follow, like a tiny, devoted shadow.

FOLLOWER LEADER

4

Adaptability

Hope isn’t very bold and tends to get nervous in new environments, which is why she becomes especially clingy.

In dog groups, she used to be the one who got picked on. Perhaps because of that, she may sometimes step forward to assert herself when she sees a more timid dog, and she benefits from gentle guidance and clear boundaries.
