Charming yuppie

My story
Koopa is a very charming and handsome dog. With his long flowing hair and fluffy tail, he looks like a super idol in the fashion industry! Most of the dogs in the PACK Taiwan shelter are medium and large dogs, and Koopa is already one of the largest. However, Koopa has a very gentle personality, which is in lovely contrast to his cold poker face. In fact, Koopa was not friendly when he first joined the PACK Taiwan.
We don’t know what Koopa went through as a child. After three years of care and patience from the caregivers, Koopa struggled even though he was never touched or put on a leash. After resisting until now, he can accept further training at PACK Academy, and I really feel that Koopa already knows how to get along with others. Koopa is not a warm and clingy salesman, but a cold, poker-faced security guard. But as long as you get along with him for a long time, you will find that Koopa will silently pay attention to you and care about you! Friends who like big dogs don’t miss this!

Personality
Koopa has a mature and stable personality, has his own ideas, and is very good at identifying human emotions. When he knows that you lack confidence, he will lead you; when he knows that you are angry, he will not do the same thing again. Wrong thing. Because of this, we often have nothing to do with Koopa! Koopa wants to be the boss of dogs, so please don't disturb his rest or step on his boundaries. But for people, Koopa is a smart, easy-to-get-together, and gentle dog!
1
Energy Levels
Koopa prefers to lie down rather than stand indoors and rarely moves around much. Currently, he seems uninterested in soft toys. When taken out for a walk, Koopa can elegantly stroll beside you, but if given the chance to run off-leash, he can run fast and far! He enjoys exploring his surroundings happily.
2
Temperament
While not shy, Koopa doesn't actively approach other dogs or people. He won't initiate contact until approached by others. However, if you have treats, it's a different story – Koopa will gladly listen to you!
3
Role
He thinks he's the most handsome being in the world and believes in leading his own life! Koopa is quite opinionated and knows what he wants and doesn't want; if he doesn't want to cross a particular street, you might have to carry him. He's not one to shake hands easily, unless you have something he wants.
4
Adaptability
He adapts well to new environments and is not shy at all! However, he's uncomfortable with loud and noisy sounds, becoming a bit nervous around hairdryers or busy streets during walks.
Foster Family Says
After a few days, Koopa has started to trust me more! When I come home from work or finish showering, he shows signs of happiness (mainly ears back and tail wagging); he's neither opposed to nor welcoming towards unfamiliar dogs or people. He's very interested in food and more willing to obey commands when treats are involved, but otherwise, he may not take commands seriously. In fact, sometimes even with food, he may not obey commands...

My Behavior
1
Tolerance Levels
At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.
Strangers
Koopa doesn't mind interacting with strangers but won't actively approach them unless you smell like food.
Dogs
He doesn't mind meeting unfamiliar dogs but won't approach them on his own.
Cats
Not observed yet.
Kids
Similar to his behavior with strangers, he doesn't mind them but won't initiate closeness.
Noise
Koopa dislikes outdoor commotion and may want to escape it.
Touch
He accepts touch but it's unclear whether he enjoys it.
2
Behavior observations
There are some common behavior issues that we see in dogs who have spent a significant amount of time in a shelter. We assess our dogs for these behaviors and provide training plans for adopters to help manage them.
Barking
Koopa doesn't bark unless you obstruct his view during photography.
Separation Anxiety
He might not care whether you're at home or not.
Aggression
He's not aggressive .
Resource Guarding
He shows no signs of food guarding.
Destructive Chewing
There haven't been any further instances of destructive behavior. However, on the second day of his arrival, Koopa tore open a garbage bag, scattering trash everywhere. The volunteers expressed frustration, but after cleaning up, Koopa hasn't rummaged through the garbage again.
3
Obedience Training
Obedience training is critical for nurturing healthy dog-human relationships and having a well-behaving dog. Our dogs receive basic training at PACK Academy, which provides a foundation for communication between dog and human.
