My story

My story

Paul joined PACK Academy in November 2025, originally coming from Changhua. Before his rescue, he endured a harsh past, living his early life confined to a small iron cage and tethered by a short iron chain. These long years of restriction left visible physical scars on his neck. This background explains his cautious and introverted nature when facing new environments or sudden movements. Despite the unseen pain he once suffered, Paul has shown remarkable trust in humans under the care of loving hearts, particularly leaning towards female companions. He is searching for a forever family that understands his past—one willing to provide the security he needs to finally let go of his burdens and fully reveal his easygoing, graceful nature.

Paul

Personality

Paul is an easygoing boy who values cleanliness and takes pride in maintaining his elegant appearance. While he isn't one to demand attention loudly, he is deeply perceptive. When he feels overlooked or unhappy—such as when his bed is taken by other dogs—he may express his silent protest in subtle ways. A true foodie at heart, his passion for treats is his greatest motivation for learning. Socially, he is a "slow-to-warm" type who loves belly rubs. Once trust is built, he will nudge you for affection, revealing his sincere, gentle, and healing personality.

Low High
Foster Family Says

Paul is very friendly with children; though he might approach cautiously at first, he will willingly lie down for pets if they initiate contact. He is a bit strong-willed during walks with his own preferred routes, and currently seems to have a soft spot for certain women, though we haven't figured out their shared traits yet.

Medical History

My health has been checked:

  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Microchipped
  • Vaccinated
  • Regular Worming Treatment

No specific medical issues.
My Behavior

My Behavior

Paul has excellent potty habits but once used his bed as a bathroom to protest his space being taken. He usually walks well on a leash but rushes toward quiet areas when hearing loud noises. He has strong opinions about walking routes. Paul occasionally nibbles on clothes, which can be redirected with toys. He shows strong reactions toward cats. Due to his early life in a cage, he is sensitive to touch around his neck and blind spots, requiring trust before close contact.

My Behavior

1

Tolerance Levels

At PACK Academy, we socialize our dogs by exposing them to different stimuli and recording their tolerance levels for each one. These oservations help us understand the dogs better, which then helps us find suitable homes for them.

Strangers

Approaches with curiosity but remains alert; flinches at sudden movements. Often friendlier toward gentle females.

4

Dogs

Gets along peacefully with dogs but can become silently resentful if his belongings are taken; monitor his social stress.

4

Cats

Shows strong reactions (barking) toward cats; currently recommended for cat-free homes or requires strict guidance.

2

Kids

Very friendly and stable with children, proactively approaching and even lying down to be petted.

5

Noise

Very resistant and anxious around loud car engines or noises, tending to flee toward quiet spaces.

2

Touch

Loves belly rubs but is sensitive about his neck and head due to past injuries; requires gentle guidance.
